It’s been an eventful weekend. I peeked at a couple stories this weekend and thought I’d provide you with a quick peek of what’s happening in Indy or abroad.
The Navy SEALs suffered a devastating loss Saturday. Nearly two dozen of the elite troops along with 30 Americans died when their helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan.
Rise of the Planet Apes makes BIG bucks
The 20th Century Fox movie opened to $54 million at the domestic box office. I can’t wait to see this movie.
Save at the Indiana State Fair
The great state fair is going on now until August 21st. I LOVE the fair! I spotted some cool ways to save this year in the Indy Star yesterday.
- Make sure to snag Monday’s Indianapolis Star, which will have a free admission’s ticket.
- If you go to the fair just to eat, like me, pick up the Value Book for $5 at the fair. It has more than $100 in coupon savings from fair vendors.
There is only a few weeks left to check out the Summer Movie Camps. Families can enjoy movies at Great Escapes Theaters for free or $1 admission at Cinemark or Goodrich Theaters. Of course check the theaters for movie schedules and listings.
