Jane by Design stars Erica Dasher as Jane Quimby, a cute awkward teenager trying to juggle high school and the hectic world of high fashion. Through a case of mistaken identity she is hired as an assistant at Donovan Decker, a hip fashion house. Quimby was only seeking an internship so imagine her workload increasing. Then add high school in the mix—a recipe for disaster.
“I expect perfection. If you make it a week I’ll be surprised,” Murray snares. Umm that’s encouraging to a new employee?!
I don’t want to spoil it for all you intrigued Peekers still planning to tune in, so I am refraining from spilling additional details. I will sprinkle some critiques on what Jane by Design focuses on—fashion.
During the opening scene there were some eye-catching runway looks. I must admit I thought all her skirts were darling. I loved Quimby’s belt usage, the accessory added depth to her overall outfits. She definitely stood out in the crowd of ordinary dressed teenagers. Oh and I loved the red military jacket she strutted in.
Of course I loved Murray’s closet of vintage, retro and chic dresses. Some pieces were too costume-like though. Oh and the shoe gear—nice. The additional cast members wore some interesting pieces as well. The associate designer, India Jourdan, has fabulous taste. Everyone’s personality definitely matched his or her wardrobe.
Okay that’s enough from me. Overall I think I like it. Now I’m itching to watch the Devil Wears Prada.
