I don’t want to be without you babe, I don’t want a broken heart. Don’t want to take a step without you babe, I don’t want to play that part. Sound familiar? That’s Beyonce’s song entitled Broken Hearted Girl. It goes on to say, I don’t want a broken heart, I don’t want to play the broken hearted girl. Teens all over America are burdened with broken hearts and refuse to trust anyone, because someone took advantage of their trust.
According to kidshealth.org, suicide is the third leading cause of death among teens. This is not good! My heart goes out for the this generation of teens. Peer pressure is so intense and the majority of teens are overlooked, because we believe the common cliche, “I’m fine.” There are many teens walking around with broken hearts and not just from guys, but from parents, or friends.
Don’t let another day go by without you engaging yourself in a conversation with someone; a real conversation. Not the how are you? I’m fine. Dig deeper! Treat everyone as if they were your best friend when you approach them, be happy and sincere. A smile truly is contagious and kind words are life to the soul. Don’t let someone’s broken heart remain shattered when they are around you. Uplift them. Encourage them. Care.
Refuse to play the part of a broken hearted person, don’t let your circumstances get the best of you. Circumstances are only temporary. Mend someone’s heart today, starting with your own. ©
