Last Sunday, August 10, was National S’mores Day. I never knew there was a National S’mores Day. They have holidays for almost everything. I chuckled a bit when I was going through the Holidays and Observances Calendar because some of the holidays were ridiculous. Ha!
Let me tell you a short story in regards to this post. I’ve been wanting to make Chocolate Chip Cookie S’mores ever since I saw a picture on Pinterest with something like 30 different ways to make S’mores. However, every time I went to make them something would come up and I didn’t. It just so happens that a couple days before I discovered National S’mores Day I planned on making them on the holiday without even knowing. Ha! Now isn’t that cool?
I sure thought it was a great coincidence. Well anyways now onto the good stuff… the instructions. Now seriously I debated typing out these instructions because someone is probably thinking, “DUH I’m pretty sure we all know what to do.” But hold on, there may people out there that honestly don’t know what a S’more is.
Which reminds me of this scene in the movie The Sandlot, when Smalls is like how can I have some more of nothing?
Ha! Smalls didn’t know what a S’more was at all. Anyways traditionally you would use Graham crackers for S’mores, but we are swiping those out for Chocolate Chip Cookies. I can’t tell you how much BETTER these Chocolate Chip Cookie S’mores are than the traditional ones.
Chocolate Chip Cookies (you can make them yourself or buy them)
Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bar
1. Bake the Chocolate Chip Cookies.
2. Preheat the stove on medium for the marshmallows.
3. Once the cookies are done let them cool. While they cool roast your marshmallow over the stove with a fork. I set the heat to medium.
5. Place a slice (I used 3 individual bars) of Hershey’s Milk Chocolate on the other cookie.
6. Then bring the two cookies together like a sandwich.
Ahhh! They are so yummy! You can’t just take my word for it. Go ahead and try them yourselves. Chocolate Chip Cookie S’mores would be a great treat for an end of the summer celebration. Spice up that campfire with these delectable goodies, everyone will love you for it.
As always thanks for reading,
