Let’s face it, when it comes to fashion Indy may not be the place to be.
“I realized that the fashion students were leaving Indianapolis as fast as they could after graduation,” says Julia Rutland founder and owner of Aesthetic Design House of Style (ADSH). “This was due to the lack of resources in our city to support independent designers.”
Rutland had a thought: “There had to be a way to keep all this amazing talent here in our city while keeping them on a national worldwide level with no start up cost to them.”
Manifestation came when ADSH was birthed. Now Indy is progressing on the fashion platform.
“There is a way to have designers live here in the city and have the revenue from all they do benefit where they live,” Rutland explains. “We provide everything an independent designer needs under one roof.”
Aesthetic Design House of Style offers fashion illustration, manufacturing, look-books and more. The organization prides itself in establishing relationships with their designers.
“We have complete control over who we want to work with and we can hand pick our designers. I can vouch for each and every one of them personally and professionally,” she says.
Rutland desires to positively impact the fashion industry by promoting and uplifting designers for many years to come. Her business is not her “job” it is a dream come true.
“I can’t wait to wake up and explore new ways to further independent fashion,” she says. “Our designers attention to detail and craftsmanship rival any large fashion house today—it’s amazing. We love fashion that’s the bottom line.”
Rutland’s Interesting Fact: The only difference between one of our designers and Zac Posen is that we haven’t gotten into the right hands… yet.
