Unless you were disconnected from the world this weekend, I’m sure you heard the devastating news that singer and actress Whitney Houston passed away Saturday. So today I decided to dedicate this Black History Month post to the iconic singer. I know I’m not the only one that noticed her dynamic earrings or catchy fashion pieces.
I captured some screenshots of her style just for you Peekers. Now you know I have to list some fun facts as well. All facts are credited to News One.
• Houston is the most awarded female recording artist of all time, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Houston’s awards include: 2 Emmy Awards, 6 Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, and 22 American Music Awards.
• Before she was a recording artist, Whitney Houston was one of the most in-demand teen models. She was the first Black woman to appear on the cover of Seventeen magazine.
• In 1978, at the age of 15, Houston sang background vocals on Chaka Khan’s hit single “I’m Every Woman,” she later recorded it and it was a hit of course.
I have to include a video of one of favorite songs as well.
I leave you with this… For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4:14
