I was in such a starving frenzy last week while driving through Broad Ripple that I picked the first thing I laid my eyes on. In this case it happened to be Poccadio Moroccan Grill & Sandwiches. I’m glad I choose this place because I wanted something different. Poccadio is a Moroccan word for “Fast Fresh Food” and refers to mostly sandwiches. I was a tad… no really skeptical about trying this place, because I know zero about Moroccan food. But those who know me know I’m very open when it comes to trying new food. I walked in curious and left overly satisfied.
Once I strolled in I immediately noticed the huge menu in front of me. I also quickly realized I was unfamiliar with more than 50 percent of the items on display. It looked like a Qdoba set up with the grill, lunch line section. Because I had no clue what to choose and it was my first time at Poccadio, the lovely waitress explained the menu, while reaching for a plate and placing various selections on it.
My sample plate consisted of small portions of about four different meats, six sides and various sauces. There was enough on the plate for that to be my meal. It was incredibly helpful. The options were endless, and it took me an extra five minutes to finally settle on something. I tried it all and took double bites to see where my taste buds would guide me.
The décor is peaceful. Poccadio certainly focused on the Middle-Eastern vibe and pulled it off well. The place is about medium size, not too big or small. The rich colors of purple, red and yellow jump out at you. Also these unique, beautiful colored lamps hung from the ceiling. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. There is also ample amount of parking by Poccadio, which is good when it comes to Broad Ripple. I definitely agree with their saying, “When you try it, you will love it.” I will definitely be back for more.
