On a dark and stormy night I headed to Perkins Family Restaurant Bakery. That sounds like the beginning of a horror movie right, except for the bakery part?! Ha! But it really was storming and I was hungry. I didn’t know what I wanted and Perkins didn’t help with that decision since the menu is extra long. It took me forever to decide, and my stomach was really impatient. But my decision turned out to be a fantastic selection. The dessert though was another story.
The décor in this place was like stepping back into the 90’s with the washed out, pattern-filled table clothes and carpet. But oddly enough the “old house” feel fits Perkins. What I did like about the decoration though was the antique pictures surrounding the walls and the different centerpieces accompanying the shelves. Those selections added much character to the eatery. Perkins serves breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. I’m excited to try their breakfast next time.
Oh and I have to mention the deal. If you buy a meal with a drink, ($2.29) you pay only like $1.60 for a slice of pie.
