Well, maybe it’s not that dramatic but it’s still pretty hard narrowing down what to pack. Luckily, I know two secrets.
1. Divide all your belongings into two piles: Keep and leave.
That way you can visualize what you are taking with you and what you are leaving behind.
Trust me, I’ve seen too many college students complain at the end of the year about how they wish they never brought unnecessary items. When it came time to clean out our dorms and pack up to go home, I saw unopened boxes of brand new stuff. To make a long story short, don’t pack everything in your house.
2. Only bring clothes you will wear.
I know, it’s hard to decide what exactly you’re going to wear but think of it this way, try imagining wearing your clothes in specific scenarios.
Ladies, you know how it is when it comes to packing clothes. We pack the entire closet and then some, thinking “Oh I’m going to wear this,” and then you come back from school and say, “I don’t even know why I packed this. I never wore it.”
Packing can be tough. Don’t stress it, the key is narrowing things down and finding out what you really need. Basically, pack it or leave it.
If you do that, you’ll be fine.
Thanks for the tips Kathy. What do you think Peekers, do you have any suggestions?>
