I apologize for the lack of posts this week friends. I went to the dentist. Enough said. Besides imagining myself ripping the left side of my mouth off, I haven’t done much but binge on Netflix shows. My throbbing face and cookies and crème ice cream were all I had in this world. These first world problems are real folks. The struggle!
I’m putting Netflix on blast by sharing with you some of my favorite series. Don’t be silly; I didn’t watch all these shows this week. I don’t have that sort of time on my hands. These are just some of the shows that have rocked my world.
I present to you my Netflix queue.
• White Collar • Crime TV Show
I’m finally finishing up Season 5 and I’m sad I’m on the last round. Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) plays a charming con artist who is willing to help an FBI agent catch other white-collar thieves in order to avoid jail. Of course Bomer has a hidden agenda too. I live to see what his best pal Mozzie (Willie Garson) will say or do next. I get so excited every time a case is solved. I guess it’s my superb detective skills I developed in my younger years from watching The Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley. GIVE US A MYSTERY! Yes, I still know the words to their Mystery Theme Song.
• Bates Motel • TV Drama
This eerie series takes you inside Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) creepy world before his mom, Marion Crane (Vera Farmiga), checks into the nut house. They are definitely an odd pair. I think the town is bonkers too. I love the suspense! I’m a low-key punk so I try not to watch this at night. If I do, I make sure to end the night on a happier, less frantic note.
• The Walking Dead • TV Drama
I had so much apprehension when my love suggested we watch this show. I was not interested in seeing ugly, gory zombies. Gross! Once I looked over all the repulsive zombies I was good though. I’m here for this series! The Walking Dead is based off a comic book series about life following a zombie apocalypse. The main characters are constantly on the move trying to find a safe and secure home. The dangers they encounter along the way will keep you coming back for more. I still shout, “Ugh zombies are so gross” and “stupid zombies” every episode. But I’m too addicted to turn back now.
• The Fosters • Family Drama
This heartfelt show let’s you peek into the lives of an interracial lesbian couple and their multiethnic group of biological, adopted and foster children. Say that three times fast! I was hooked after the first episode. I love the passionate connection this family has despite everything they go through. Plus I’m obsessed with the theme song.
• House of Cards • Drama
Kevin Spacey is genius in his role as U.S. Representative Francis Underwood, a ruthless revengeful politician that will not stop until he takes over Washington, D.C. Do not get in Underwood’s way. This show literally has my heart racing. I really hope Washington is not ran the way this show depicts it. That would not be good. Season 2 just premiered on Netflix. House of Cards is an original Netflix series. It is not available on T.V.
• Gossip Girl • Young Adult TV Drama
Well I’m probably not considered a young adult anymore, but I couldn’t get enough of Gossip Girl. I could not! Talk about too much drama to handle. I cannot imagine living in these characters shoes. Just give me Serena and Blair’s closet and I’d be satisfied. This show documents all the choas that goes on in the upper eastside aka New York City. The Gossip Girl is an anonymous blogger that narrates all the scandals and heartache. This show is filled with schemes and high fashion.
I’m still waiting on new episodes of Parenthood; another family show that I’m head over heels for.
Now that you know what’s on my “recently watched list” tell me yours. What shows are you obsessed with? I need some new material!
Have you seen any of the shows mentioned above? Thanks for stopping by friends.
