I’ve been off the blogging grid for quite some time… like seven months. I decided that my blog needed a haircut, manicure, and pedicure. Heck a massage and a dab of mascara would do some good too. I was tired of looking at the flashy purple background and the clash of pink I chose for my banner. I was frankly tired of looking at AK’s World. Gasp!
It was like my closet was full of all these old, outdated clothes and I needed to go on a shopping spree. My blog needed a makeover! AK’s World no longer represented me. It was more like an extension of me that was spiraling out of control.
So I changed the look and mission. I even gave it a new identity, which is now AK Avenue (in case you missed that obvious detail.) It’s not that I HATED AK’s World. I didn’t. It was my first baby so I was madly in love. Although I am not a mom, I can imagine that as a parent you mess up a lot with your first child. Hopefully you realize your mistakes and try to correct them. AK Avenue is my correction.
Of course I will make mistakes on it too, because I am human. My point is I am in the process of a new, beautiful journey and it’s exactly where I want to be. It’s so easy to lose who you are when you have so many people whispering in your ear, or when you compare yourself to others. No more! AK Avenue will be stimulating, inspiring and relatable on its own terms.
Blogging is no walk in the park! You may trip over a couple rocks or get caught in a rainstorm sometimes, but you learn to look where you are going so you won’t trip. And you plan ahead and bring an umbrella in case the unexpected happens. So cheers to starting over and hoping for the best. Thanks for tagging along with me on this new adventure.
I hope you enjoy my new makeover and all it has to offer.
Special thanks to Katie Rosebraugh who redesigned the website. Katie is so awesome and I highly recommend her. Also a big thank you to Staci Dartis who created my logo, and Alyse McMiller who drew my lovely cartoon character.
Oh and check out my new About Me section.
