When I first laid eyes on the clothing line entitled Liz Alig I was tickled. It reminded me of a modern day take on the Cosby Show apparel. The line stands out and demands attention. I was honored to model this line as well as meet the crafty designer.
Take a peek at my chat with designer Liz Alig below.
When people are wearing my line I hope they feel “comfortable, functional, classy and innovative in even the smallest design details. They can feel proud that the garment they are wearing helps provide a sustainable income to women in developing countries.”
My favorite piece from my collection is the “Jeanne Dress. I love it! It is really comfortable yet easy to dress up or down. It will be one of a few dresses included in our new Organic Line from Uganda coming Spring 2012.”
Liz Alig is “Fair Trade Fashion. It’s a label that seeks to create innovative, fashion forward collections while at the same time choosing to promote the economic growth and education of women in developing countries.”
As a designer I want people to “be aware where their clothing comes from. Even by just reading the tag that says where the garment was made, you are remembering for a second, this important step in the production process… someone, somewhere sewed that garment.”
When I am not designing I like to “travel, be outside and do anything crafty or creative.”
