I never turn down the opportunity to go to Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt. I mean really it’s the best ice cream ever?! Only a nut would turn it down. I’m no nut! With the wonderful weather Indy’s been having lately, ice cream has been a craving of mine. Saturday after an intense workout I somehow ended up at Handel’s… Oops! Ha! This time my review is not about their vanilla yogurt. I am ashamed I got that my first time. This time I indulged in the Cinnamon Roll Sundae. Yes, it’s just as lovely as it sounds. I certainly agree with Handel’s being voted the best ice cream shop in Indy for six consecutive years.
I’m a start doing a mini review (shorter than my regular overall ones) of every flavor I try at Handel’s, starting with this one. I promise to get a different flavor every visit too. The weather is warming up, and it’ll be the perfect time to take advantage of this joint. Check out my other full review here.
The line was long again as usual, but the wait is never too long. You walk up to the window to place your order, and have the option of sitting on the benches near the eatery. Don’t be overwhelmed by the choices. There are over 50 flavors! It’s awesome that they give you free samples, so you know what you are getting into.
Review: I ordered the Cinnamon Roll Sundae ($5.24). OMG! It was a dream. Now I already love some hot cinnamon rolls as it is. Then Handel’s adds on drizzling cinnamon flavored syrup, piles of ice cream on a hot cinnamon roll and a mountain of whipped cream. I was hooked on the first bite. My goodness! Every bite was a tingling sensation. I enjoyed every single bit of it. Right now that is my favorite option on the menu. I’m telling you it’s the absolute best combination. I have googly eyes just thinking about it. YUM!
Ice Cream Grade: A+
