The makeover was definitely needed and nice compared to its first look. If you haven’t been since the renovation you’re in for a surprise.
Alright, enough chatter let’s get to the evaluation shall we?!
I ordered what Maxine’s is famous for—chicken and waffles. I was served their signature waffle, three jumbo chicken wings and their peach butter, costing $8.50. Everything was huge! The food was tasty and hot out the kitchen. The crispiness and seasoning of the chicken was finger licking good.
Pretty relaxing. What was cool is Maxine’s has an open kitchen, so you can see what’s going on and smell the sweet cooking—surprisingly it wasn’t noisy back there.
Our server was a sweetheart, checked on us often and took good care of us. Our food came quick, fresh and hot. I have no complaints here.
Overall Experience: A
Everything was certainly to my satisfaction. The food definitely reminds you of your grandma’s good ole cooking. I suggest you check them out the next time you hit the pavement downtown. I can’t wait to revisit and try something new.
