Bub’s Burgers and Ice Cream is one of my favorite spots in Indy. I visited for the first time last year and was so impressed. Not just with the over-the-top food, but with the service, value and pretty much everything. To peek at my last experience and more photos, click here. It’s really hard not to enjoy your visit at Bub’s. I tried something different this time though. Ahh… Bub’s is simply delicious.
Bub’s is always packed and usually there is a wait. Hey, people want the best! I advise you to call first to see how long your wait may be. One time it was over an hour for me, and I explored Carmel during my wait.
Cuisine: Chili in French bowl ($6.50), Sloppy Waffles ($3.65), and Apple Pie and Cinnamon Ice Cream ($4.25)
Analysis: The Chili in a French bread bowl included Bub’s famous beef chili, cheese, onion and sour cream. In other words complete goodness! My waitress, who was giving out free samples, introduced the chili to me. She was awesome by the way, cheerful and helpful. Although the eatery is famous for its burgers I wanted to try something else, which was fine since I had the burgers last time. You must try the burgers the first time! Anyways, I also tried the Sloppy Waffles, this was waffle fries covered in cheddar cheese sauce, bacon and sour cream (which I got on the side). It was good, but I think it would have been better with regular fries. The waffle fries texture was a little weird to me. Next up was warm apple pie with ice cream. I selected the cinnamon ice cream from their ice cream shop. Yes the eatery has an individual ice cream parlor in the building. That dessert was a repeat purchase. I had to get it again. Delicious!
I highly recommend you try Bub’s Burger and Ice Cream. It’s so worth it!
