Can we go back to the days, when things were simpler?
When it didn’t matter how much money we had, or what we were wearing.
Back to the days when we didn’t compare ourselves to everyone else.
You know, when everyone was innocent. The days when a smile truly meant I care.
Back when partying, smashing, and crashing weren’t the main subjects of every conversation. When the glitz and fashion were irrelevant.
Huh, were there really days like that?
When it didn’t matter what guy turned their head to look your way.
When you weren’t ridiculed for your demeanor or talk.
Back when your dreams didn’t seem so far away and nothing was impossible.
Now, those days don’t even seem possible.
Take me back to the days when my teddy bear was all the comfort I needed, and I didn’t care how popular I was.
Back when your hood didn’t matter, everyone was equal. When everyone had an aroma of beauty about them.
Can we go back to those days? I don’t think it’s that simple.
